This Privacy Policy explains how Gen2B, Inc. (“Gen2B”, “we”, “us” or “our”) handles personal information in connection with Gen2Chat — the mobile application for support operators working on the Gen2B customer support platform. Gen2Chat is intended for employees of companies that use the Gen2B platform: accounts are created by the administrator of the customer company, and there is no self-registration inside the application. We adhere to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the General Data Protection Regulation) and to other applicable data protection legislation. The Data Controller is Gen2B, Inc., a Delaware corporation, 131 Continental Dr, Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713, United States.

1. Information we collect

In relation to the Operator, the Gen2Chat application collects the following personal data:

  • email address and name — used to identify the Operator and to sign in;
  • profile photograph, where the Operator chooses to upload one;
  • availability status and work statistics — accepted, closed and missed conversations and response time — generated by the use of the application itself;
  • the push notification token of the device — used solely to deliver notifications about incoming conversations;
  • an identifier generated when the application is installed — used to distinguish the Operator’s devices from one another.
2. Conversation content

Through the application the Operator sees the content of support conversations with end customers. These data are processed on behalf of the company that owns the project on the Gen2B platform; that company acts as the Data Controller in respect of them. They include:

  • the text of messages exchanged with the customer;
  • attachments sent in the conversation — images, files and voice messages;
  • the customer’s name and contact details as provided in the channel;
  • the channel through which the customer made contact.
3. Mobile application specifics

Two capabilities of the application deserve a separate note, because they rely on permissions granted on the device:

  • Camera and photo library. Access is requested only at the moment the Operator attaches an image to a conversation or changes their profile photograph. The application does not access them in the background.
  • Push notifications. Delivered through Apple Push Notification service on iOS and Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android. A notification carries the sender name and the message text so that an Operator can triage without opening the application. The application remains fully functional if notification permission is declined.
4. How we use the information

The information described above is used solely to operate the service:

  • to route incoming conversations to the appropriate Operator and to conduct and store the conversation with the end customer;
  • to deliver push notifications about new conversations and messages, and to produce the Operator’s own work statistics.

We do not sell personal data, we do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers, and we do not use it to track users across other applications or websites.

5. Sharing and disclosure

Data are shared only with the infrastructure providers necessary to operate the service: hosting, and the push notification services named above. We disclose personal data to public authorities only where required by law.

6. Data storage and security

Data are stored on the Gen2B platform servers. Transmission is protected by TLS, and access is restricted by authentication and a role model.

Retention periods for conversation history are determined by the company that owns the project on the Gen2B platform.

7. Your rights

Operators may request access to their data, its correction or its deletion through the administrator of their employing company, or by contacting us directly. Operator accounts are corporate accounts: they are created and deleted by the administrator of the employing company. Where the GDPR applies, you further have the right to object to processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Gen2Chat is a professional tool and is not directed to persons under 16 years of age.

8. Contacting us
